Your institution has a unique story to tell. One that is rich in history and traditions. For Teachers College at Columbia University their story is one of nurturing human aspiration – the desire of all people to fulfill their own potential, realize their dreams and create a better and higher-minded world for future generations.

With that in mind, when Linda Colquhoun asked me to create a custom silk scarf and tie I took design inspiration from the vaulted blue and gold arches in Russell Hall at the entrance to their Gottesman Libraries. A hub of activity can be found under these arches, bringing community together for music, readings and exhibits that reflect their pursuits in art, education, health and psychology.

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing the story behind these designs. If it has inspired your thinking about pursuing a special recognition project, we would love to hear from you.
